Material

We believe that high-performance products shouldn’t come at a cost to the planet. That’s why we’ve carefully selected Recycled PETG as our primary medium.

PETG is a remarkably durable material—the same resilient plastic used in high-end food packaging and water bottles—reimagined for digital craft. By utilizing recycled and plant-based filaments, we give discarded plastics a second life as beautiful, functional objects. This choice allows us to create Case Cards that are lightweight, moisture-resistant, and incredibly strong, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional mass manufacturing without compromising on quality.

Manufacturing

At JAM Studio, we don’t believe in “mass production.” We believe in intentional making. Our manufacturing process is a blend of precision engineering and artisanal finishing. Because we operate on a made-to-order model, your product doesn’t exist until you ask for it. This allows us to maintain a zero-waste inventory and ensure that every item leaving our studio meets our exact standards for beauty and durability.

1. The Design Phase

Everything begins with a sketch. Once the concept is finalized, we move into Fusion 360, where we obsess over tolerances, ergonomics, and structural integrity. This digital stage allows us to prototype rapidly and refine the “Two-Card Lifestyle” geometry that defines our Case Cards.

2. The Making Process

Depending on the tier of your product, we utilize two distinct additive manufacturing paths:

  • Precision Layering (FDM): Our Signature items are built layer-by-layer using high-grade recycled PETG. This process creates a characteristic texture and a rugged, rigid finish that is built for daily use.

  • Liquid Precision (SLA): For our Limited and Bespoke pieces, we use light-cured resin to achieve intricate patterns and high-resolution details that are impossible with traditional manufacturing.

3. Post-Processing & Quality Control

The work doesn’t end when the printer stops. Every JAM Studio product is hand-finished in our workshop. This includes:

  • Hand-Refinement: Removing support structures and smoothing surfaces.

  • Assembly: Integrating resin and PETG components for our hybrid models.

  • Final Inspection: We check every hinge, slot, and attachment point to ensure your Case Card is ready for the rigors of your daily carry.

4. Zero-Waste Commitment

By utilizing 3D printing and recycled PETG, we drastically reduce material waste compared to traditional subtractive manufacturing (like CNC or molding). Any production scraps we do generate are collected to be repurposed, keeping our footprint small and our studio clean.
